"I never really cared too much about what people expect and I used to get very angry about people who give us flak for just following the path we do. That's not because I do not care; that's because it is the only way to stay honest to myself - and to you! Although we have had higher chart positions in the past, due to strong other mainstream releases coming out these days, [EDGUY's latest album] 'Tinnitus Sanctus' seems to be our strongest-selling album to date - looking at the figures - which is amazing looking at the general situation of the music market.

"I wanna thank all you people out there for supporting us. I know it's not very fashionable to like us these days; a lot of people call us a sell-out, a pop band (which is ridiculous bullshit) and whatever. All I can do is play the music that I feel, no matter if it sells or not.

"I met Alice Cooper a few days ago and he told me how much he loves [the latest AVANTASIA album] 'The Scarecrow' [which features a guest appearance by Cooper]. I've talked to many EDGUY fans recently and they told me how much they enjoy the 'Tinnitus Sanctus' album and how much it means to them. And I am sure this wouldn't be the case if we'd record a copy of any of our previous albums.

I wanna make sure that you - our true fans with brain and heart - know how much it means to me when you love the music, and that's got nothing to do with sales.

"I will always be honest and I'd rather quit playing music than following the fools who don't understand what we do.

"Thank you and have a wonderful pre-Christmas time.

"We are right now preparing for the world tour and I can't wait to hit the road with my EDGUY fellows again. I am sorry we won't play many festivals in 2009, but we are preparing our own big stage show right now and I think it's better for our fans to bring a big production ourselves than adjusting it to a festival stage. I am sure we will have a blast in January/February."

Le groupe Suédois/Allemand Last Autumn's Dream va sortir son 6ème album studio toujours chez Escape Music www.escape-music.com en janvier 2009. Il s'appellera Dreamcatcher. Le groupe est composé du même line-up : Mikael Erlandsson au chant, Andy Malecek (ex FAIR WARNING) à la guitare Marcel Jacob à la batterie et Jamie Borger à la basse, tout deux aussi membre du groupe TALISMAN (groupe de Jeff Scott Soto),

SHOOTING STAR est un groupe américain formé en 1978 autour de deux amis d'enfance : Ron Veslin, bassiste et Van McLain, guitariste. Se rajoutent à ce line-up Charles Watz au violon, Steve Thomas, batteur et Bill Guffey aux claviers.

Après sept albums studios et des tournées avec entres autres ZZ TOP, JOURNEY, HEART ou Bryan Adams, le groupe revient avec ce huitième album studio. Ce "retour" après six ans d'absence depuis le précédent album est marqué par l'arrivée de Kevin Chalfant comme chanteur. Celui-ci a participé à d'autres groupes de hard mélodique comme THE STORM ou TWO FIRES. Toujours présents : Ron, Van et Steve, mais Shane Michaels remplace Charles Watz au violon et Denis Laffoon remplace Bill Guffey aux claviers.

L'album commence avec le très dynamique "Runaway", non ce n'est pas Bon Jovi.... C'est péchu et c'est pleins de jolis chorus. Dans le même registre il y a l'excellent "Trouble In Paradise" et "Borrowed Time". J'adore la façon de chanter de Kevin dans "Trouble In Paradise". Ce morceau est efficace, il est super bien fichu!

Les morceaux mid-tempo comme "Without Love" ou "Temptation" sont supers bien balancés et le très "space" "We're Not Alone" est très enthousiasmant.

Les ballades sont aussi sublimes, j'adore "George's Song", j'aime les nuances dans la voix de Kevin. C'est beau quoi! "What Love Is" est aussi sublime.

Le seul point négatif sur cet album, et, là, je vais "chipoter", c'est juste que niveau vocalises, je trouve que Kevin Chalfant en fait des tonnes. J'ai l'impression d'entendre un chanteur de comédies musicales qui veut chanter plus fort que "ses petits camarades" de la troupe. Bon, on va dire qu'il veut épater la Galerie (des Glaces... À Versailles), il se prend pour le Roi Soleil quoi.... D'ailleurs il devrait peut-être passer le casting du Roi Soleil. Là, j'en vois qui sont complètement largués, hé! Faut suivre les gars! Enfin quoi!! Tout ça pour dire que Joey Tempest (EUROPE), Tommy Heart (FAIR WARNING) ou Steve Lee (GOTTHARD) par exemple sont des excellents chanteurs avec une "large palette vocale" et qu'ils n'en font pas autant...

Sinon, à part ça, je ne vois que du positif dans cet album, c'est fun, c'est dynamique. Par moment, ça me fait un peu penser à FAIR WARNING. Tout ce que j'aime quoi! J'ai vraiment beaucoup apprécié l'album. Bon, Kevin, sans rancunes....?
