"We have now started the recording of our forthcoming album (yet untitled!) and we're well on our way with recording the basic tracks. Everything is working and sounding fu**ing great... except for the bass amp that blew up and almost caught fire!

Sunday 18 June, Ian [Haugland] finished recording the last drum track for the new album, with only minor blisters... on his feet! He even got to do a timpani overdub, using the very same tipanies that John Bonham from LED ZEPPELIN played on the intro for 'In the Evening'. Need we say that Ian was thrilled? Right now John Leven is putting down the last couple of bass tracks, and hopefully we'll start with the guitars next week."

En bref, Europe est actuellement en studio, Ian a fini ses parties de batterie dimanche 18 juin, il n'y a toujours pas de titre à l'album. Ils sont contents de ce que l'album à venir peut donner. John Leven est dans ses dernières parties de basses. Et ils espèrent "attaquer" les parties guitare la semaine prochaine

Studio report No.3

Hey...How u doin´?

Last Sunday John L finnished his last bas track and later the same day John N started working on the guitars... No time to loose!

John had more than 10 different Gibson guitars to try out in the studio, and after hours of testing and tweeking them all, he decided on a Les Paul custom (Mick Ronson style)to be the NO.1 for this session. John says that this is the best guitar sound he´s ever had... We all agree!

We´ll keep on working until Friday,and then we´ll take a break for some days to celebrate the Swedish "midsummer" with snaps and herring (Swedish tradition!).

Studio Report N°3

Salut Comment allez-vous?

Dimanche John Leven a terminé ces dernières parties de basse. Plus tard le même jour, John Norum a commencé. Pas de temps à perdre!

John avait plus de 10 guitares Gibson différentespour essayer en studio. Après des heures de test, il s’est décidé sur une Les Paul custop, (style Mick Ronson) pour être le N°1 pour cette session. John a dit que c’était le meilleur son de guitare qu’il avait eu... Nous étions tous d’accord!!

Nous travaillerons jusqu’à vendredi, nous ferons un break de quelques jours pour célébrer le Swedish "midsummer" avec snaps et harengs (tradition suédoise!)
