Hello everyone!

All of us in the band have just met up in Berlin to meet with our record company. We have just listened to our new Cd together after the final mastering has been done. We can't believe it, we did it! A new album is ready for you.
It will be released the 27th of October in Scandinavia and Europe. America and Asia will follow shortly.

It's been an intense and creative time for us in the band, we spent around 60 days of this summer, rehearsing, recording and mixing the songs. At one point we had 4 studios on the go at the same time. One for John's guitar overdubs, one for Joey and Mic doing vocals and keyboards, one studio where we did some programming (loops etc.) and finally one studio where Stefan Glaumann mixed the songs. We even slept in the studio and worked in shifts to get it done in time.

It has turned out to be (we think) one of the best Europe albums so far. It has a very contemporary sound but there are some classic Europe trademarks in there. We have pushed the limits again, we have taken some chances. We had a lot of fun doing it with a lot of hard work.

The name of the Cd will be "Secret Society". We will put samples of a few songs on our website very soon. And soon you will be able see the "official biography" for Secret Society before anyone else, right here on our site.

At the same time we are starting to plan our next tour. It looks like we are touring Scandinavia this autumn and the rest of Europe in the beginning of 2007. After that we are planning to play festivals in Europe, tour Asia, US and the UK.

As soon as our artwork is ready, which is being done by the legendary Storm Thorgerson, we will put up a brand new look for our website with a lot of new stuff.

Bonjour tout le monde !

Nous tous dans le groupe, nous sommes rencontrés à Berlin pour voir les gens de notre maison de disque. Nous avons écouter notre dernier album après que les derniers mastering ont été fait. Nous ne pouvons le croire, nous l’avons fait ! Un nouvel album est prêt pour nous ! Il sortira le 27 octobre en Scandinavie et dans le reste de l’Europe, pour les USA et l’Asie, il sortira légèrement plus tard.

C’était un moment intense et créatif pour nous dans le groupe. Nous avons passé environ 60 jours cet été a répéter, enregistrer et mixer les nouvelles chansons. Nous avions 4 studios en même temps, un pour enregistrer les parties guitare de John, un autre pour la partie vocale de Joey et la partie clavier de Mic, un autre où nous faisions des programmations et le dernier où Stefan Glaumann mixait les chansons. Nous avpns dormis parfois au studio pour que le travail soit fait dans les temps.

C’est parti pour être à notre avis un des meilleurs albums de EUROPE.. Il ya un son contemporain avec des sonorités classiques à EUROPE.. Nous avons poussé nos limites, nous avons saisi notre chance. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisirs avec ça et beaucoup de travail.

En même temps, nous avons pour projet de commencer notre nouvelle tournée. Il semblerait que nous serons en tournée en Scandinavie cet automne et le reste de l’Europe début 2007. Après cela nous avons pour projet de jouer dans des festivals en Europe, une tournée en Asie, aux USA, en Angleterre.

Dès que le artwok sera prêt, qui est fait par le légendaire Storm Thorgerson , nous mettrons le nouveau look du site avec plein d’autre chose.

A bientôt en tournée, en espérant que vous aimerez notre nouveau cd.

Sanctuary Records GmbH is looking forward to continue its successful partnership with Swedish superstar rockers EUROPE in 2006.

The hard rock heros – still in the original line-up with front man Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, keyboarder Mic Michaeli, drummer Ian Haugland and bass player John Leven – present their 7th studio album "Secret Society", released once more on Sanctuary Records GmbH.

Already in 2004 Sanctuary Records and EUROPE celebrated a fantastic comeback with "Start From The Dark" together. This year the fruitful co-operation between band and label continues, adding the US and Scandinavia as additional territories. Truly, in 2006, EUROPE are reinventing themselves and are seeking new challenges!

Stylistically, their previous album "Start From The Dark" was still close to the sound and songwriting of their hugely successful 1986 album "The Final Countdown" which sold 8 million copies worldwide. "Secret Society" is a definitive step forward into the ranks of other contemporary hard rock legends. Mixed by Stefan Glaumann (e.g. Rammstein, Within Temptation, Apoptygma Berzerk) and mastered by George Marino (e.g. Velvet Revolver, U2) in the Sterling Sound Studios, N.Y., this entirely self-produced album sounds deliciously modern and tips its hat only once in a while to past accomplishments or pays hommage to idols Led Zeppelin, who also worked with EUROPE’s sound engineer Lennart Östlund.

J’ai une bonne et une mauvaise nouvelle pour vous. Je commence par la mauvaise. Il est possible de pré-commander le nouveau DVD via le site officiel, mais uniquement pour les scandinaves...

La bonne nouvelle, c'est que, sur ce site http://www.megastore.se/, vous pouvez le pré-commander aussi, même si vous n'êtes pas "de là-bas" ! . Je ne sais pas si c'est l'édition limitée qui est disponible, mais voilà...

Pour info, le DVD coûte entre 19 et 20 euros et il faut compter 10 euros de frais de port... et un délai de réception de 2 à 6 jours à compter de la date d'expédition...

Par contre dernière info "pêchée", les 5000 copies ne seront disponibles qu’à partir du site officiel de EUROPE. Le tout est de svoir si le site "ouvrira" ses ventes à d’autres que des suédois, norvégiens, finlandais ou danois....

New DVD

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of EUROPE's "The Final Countdown" album and tour, Warner Bros. will release a new DVD on October 4. The set will feature the following:

* 13-track live concert from Solnahallen in Stockholm 1986, remastered in Dolby Digital and restored in widescreen format
* Interviews with the band made in 2006
* Gallery with rare and never seen pictures from "The Final Countdown" tour
* The only existing unreleased outtake from "The Final Countdown" recording sessions — "Where Men Won't Dare", an instrumental song written by Joey Tempest and John Leven
* The band revisiting the Powerplay Studios where they recorded "The Final Countdown" album.
* Biography

The first 5000 printed copies will also include an exclucive eight-page color booklet with rare and unseen pictures, plus brand new liner notes by the journalist Anders Tengner.

Un nouveau DVD pour EUROPE

Pour célébrer le 20ème anniversaire de l’album et de la tournée THE FINAL COUNTDOWN de EUROPE, Warner Bross réalisera un nouveau DVD le 4 octobre 2006. La set-list comprendra :

Une visite du studio Power Play Studios où ils avaient enregistré l’album "The Final Countdown".
Biographie
Les 5000 premières copies auront un livret de 8 pages avec des photos rares et inédites, plus des notes par le journaliste Anders Tengner.

Ce DVD ne sera disponible qu’en Suède, Norvège, Finlande et Danemark. Espérons qu’il bénéficie d’une sortie mondiale.
Par contre si vous voulez une des 5000 copies disponibles va falloir vous bouger et commander ce DVD directement "à la source"!

Nous avons terminé l'enregistrement du "nouvel" album. Toutes les chansons ont été mixé par Stefan Glaumann.

Joey est allé à New York pour superviser le mastering quiu sera fait par George Marino de Sterling Sound.

We are now done with the recordings of the "new" album. Everything went smooth even thought it was(to say the least) hectic in the studio from time to time. All songs have been mixed by Stefan Glaumann, he really took the songs to a higher level.
Joey has now gone to N.Y to supervise the mastering that will be done by George Marino at Sterling Sound.
